Default Applying the admin security patch from June 09

I have followed the instructions for installing the new security patch from here: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=130161

I've copied all of the files to the locations specified in the README that came with it, but the purpose of doing this doesn't make any sense to me. There is nothing anywhere that is include/require'ing any of the files that come with the "patch", so how are they having any effect?

Am I supposed to include the patch files somehow (for example, admin/includes/functions/extra_functions/security_patch_v138_20090619.php)?

    Thanks,
    Jesse Taylor

The files in many of those folders are automatically processed simply by their presence and appropriate naming convention.
