    Default From Scratch

JustHost is my host. Their support stinks. I need to set up a way for people to pay for a single service through my just. Just that single service. I don't have a clue as to what I'm doing, and JustHost has left me high and dry. I basically need someone to walk me through, step by step.

Generally, hosting companies don't have any responsiblity to support third-party software. That's what we're here for.

What exactly do you want to do, and please provide a link to your site.

I want to create a separate page (which I haven't done yet), where people can pay in advance for the class they wish to take. We only offer one type of class, so all I need is a place for them to pay.

Got it. Zencart isn't designed to be a 'backend' cart for an existing site. Zencart has to be your site, or you need to install Zencart in a subdirectory and link to it from your main site.

BTW, I taught an NRA PPH course (the requirement for a Michigan CPL) here last Saturday.

What could I use to accomplish my purpose then? I don't know what PPH is, I'm just the "mind" behind the site. The guys do the class.

As I said, you'll need to install Zencart in a subdirectory and link to it from your main site. You can style Zencart to match your design.

It's possible Zencart is a lot more than you need. What payment methods are you thinking of?

That sounds very complicated. I can do computers, but anything above very simple web design (ie frontpage) is outta my league. Just credit/debit cards.

Any chance you're up to walking me through what needs to be done?

I'm up to it, but don't have time to write a Zencart from-scratch tutorial.

I always point out that there was a time (less than 5 years ago) when I knew as little as you do now about this stuff and had never heard of Zencart. It isn't that hard to learn, but you have to dive in.

It sounds like what you need is a very basic Zencart installation with Paypal Express enabled. Fairly simple.

I'm glad you think so. I feel like I'm drowning though.
