How to change display of category page?

When I add an attribute to products, they display on the category page as I would like them (without the quantity selection field):
http://theoystercatcher.net/shopping...=index&cPath=4

Without attributes they display like this:
http://theoystercatcher.net/shopping...dex&cPath=9_12

The problem is, the products above don't require attributes, so how can I get them to display like the first link without adding attributes?

If you mean you want to lose the quantities input boxes and just have the more info ... then look in the Configuration ... Product Listing ...

Display Product Add to Cart Button (0=off; 1=on; 2=on with Qty Box per Product)
Do you want to display the Add to Cart Button?

NOTE: Turn OFF Display Multiple Products Qty Box Status to use Option 2 on with Qty Box per Product

And turn this OFF by setting to 0 ...

Nope ... it can be confusing at times to get the ideal setting combination when you are not quite sure what it is you are looking for ... besides, it helps when you write the code ... kinda gives you an edge ...
