Default Has PayPal changed the way it works?

One of the biggest problems with PayPal Express, it that it required customers to create PayPal accounts to use the service. However checking out the PayPal Express button on one of my Zen powered shopping carts this morning, the PayPal greeting page now says 'Don't have a PayPal account - No problem' and gives users the ability to pay by credit card? Tried it out with couple of other people's Zen powered sites via the live sites showcase that have PayPal Express checkout buttons and got same screen.

Don't know if this is a temporary glitch on PayPal's site, or they have changed the way their system works? Cleaned out the cache on my system to make sure nothing was being stored, but no the PayPal page is still showing the 'Don't have a PayPal account - No problem' on its greeting page for PayPal Express at the moment.

Outside the US one doesn't need a PayPal account to do checkout.

PayPal has been listening to customer requests and has been working to remove the requirement to have an account for US customers.
Sounds like you're seeing the fruit of those changes.

Thank you for the reply. It is Zen Cart's that have the PayPal Express button on the cart page I am referring to. That includes sites that are based in the US too.

Strangely enough on other makes of shopping cart that have a PayPal Express button, I am still getting taken the the page that requires customers to create an account.

Having tried virtually all the carts out there, Zen Cart is probably the best solution.... period. Its benefits are too numerous to even list.

Will be even better still when it finally incorporates an admin option to bypass the registration pages altogether. Straight from cart to shipping options, then out to payment providers.... evolution!!

Looking forward to the new version.
