I worked it out: I had indeed missed one mod and its incomplete install was throwing the error.

How does restoring the old database into a new location affect email? Test messages sent from the site are not received, although I have updated the basic email info within the admin and created site-specific email addresses.

Check the email addresses in admin>configuration>e-mail options. They're probably the values from the "old" domain after the database restore.

I had done all that, as a standard, which is why I was surprised when mail wasn't arriving. However, it finally hit me: I always create a forwarding account so that all my mail goes to one place. Yep, I had neglected to do that. It would have been a long wait!!

That's why I suggested you could do a completely new install which will ask for that info and generate the config files correctly. Then you'd just have to copy your custom template folders/files and copy the current database (do a backup of the old database and restore it to the new one using phpMyAdmin from your webmaster panel).
I am new to Zen Cart, do you the includes folder? of further down the directory stream the Templates folder only. I installed locally and now want to copy the cart and database to my website with all the changes I have made.

Thank you for your assistance as this seems to be identical to the other request.
