Should I install Zen Cart in the root of my site? or in a directory? What about SEO?

Hi there,

I followed the instructions when installing Zen-Cart. Im just wondering, is it best to install in the root directory or in another directory i.e. http://www.domain.com/shop ? Does it matter where you install Zen-Cart? Will it affect rankings? SEO etc? I had to use a redirect just to point to my shop and apparently some search engines does not like this? Should I move my shop to the root directory?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

If you want it addressable with only your domainname sans a /shop entered then do not redirect
Put it where you want it addressable

Ok...will do that but I have installed some modules on it already (IH2, HideCategories etc.). Will all of them still work?
