    Default Trouble installing Zen Cart on XP PC

    I'm trying to install ZenCart v1.3.8a.
    Environment:
    OS: Windows XP servicepack 3
    Browser: IE 8.0.6001.18702
    PHP: PHP 5.2.8
    MySQL: 5.1.31
    Apache: 2.2.11

    When running the install setup, I get the setup guide on my browser.
    Welcome page = OK
    Continue
    Licence page = OK
    Accepting terms (radio-button)
    Continue
    Prerequistes = Page can not be displayed

    Please give me some hints, as I'm stuck.

    TIA

    Pluto

    In your /cache/ folder are some zcInstall*****.log files.
    What are their contents?

    Hi,
    I have no zcinstal*log on my computer.
    The only files in that folder are:
    sess_fl7f8c9rcdfgddjpkq1867huu4 and sess_oh3pb7aeskubvg1upqlj5gji4 - both containing the same information:
    InstallerConfigKeys |a:0: {}.
    .htaccess containing
    #prevent directory browsing -- for security
    IndexIgnore */*
    <LIMIT GET POST PUT>
    Order Allow Deny
    Deny from All
    </Limit>

    The /cache/ folder needs to be made writable, as per the installation instructions included with the software.

    The folder is writable, I've checked.
    I'm logged in as administrator with all rights available.
    If the folder was not writable, the sess* files would not appear.

    I think I' followed instructions included, but it seems I've missed some vital points.

    True - the session files wouldn't be generated if the folder wasn't writable. I missed that in your earlier post.

    Open the /zc_install/includes/installer_params.php file, and change
    Code:
      define('STRICT_ERROR_REPORTING', false);
    to read TRUE instead of FALSE.
    Now what happens when you go through the installer?

    I've changed the expression, but I get the same result.
    I begin to suspect that I've done something wrong in the configure-files.

    Please see the enclosed files, one admin configure file (a_configure.php) and one public configure file (p_configure.php)
    (renamed here to keep them apart).

    What happens if you point your browser to the /extras/curltest.php file ?

    That suggests that your PC's PHP configuration isn't set up to handle CURL. The apache errorlog will tell you more about the specific reason for the 500 error.
