Default Can a NON-developer but tech savvy person like me figure this out?

I thought I had a cart solution but my vendor hasn't answered any of my pleas for help for the past 5 days after happily taking my money. So I discovered that ZenCart is a free install on the GoDaddy hosting and so should be configured properly.

I'm just not sure about my ability to actually configure the cart. I am not a programmer. I do css and html pages and wanted a GUI interface for configuring products, etc.

Is there a demo I can check out somewhere? And will I be able to do this?

    HELP! :)

You can do it, but find another host before you do.
Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

If you would like to check the behaviour of Zen Cart in a default installation, visit

    http://zen-cart.net/demo/

This is the official Zen Cart demo site.

The Admin username is demo and the password is demo.

No. You must be a veteran uber-geek with secret knowledge imparted to you by time traveling space aliens who look like Elvis.

It helps to sacrifice a goat now and then too...

    Actually, you should do fine.

Thanks - I'm knee deep in it now! :) Thankfully godaddy handled the installing of the cart for me so now I'm configuring. So far I found a template I liked and tweaked it to my specs (thankfully css doesn't scare me) and now I'm working on setting up the cart. There are so many options and it's not super intuitive to me so I'm checking each option to see if it is something I need to do.

I did post a help question in shipping and pricing module area.

I think I can do this! I just hope it will be easy for my client to get his orders, etc too as I hoped to turn this back over to him. I guess if he needs help with all of it more income for me? :)

When I started Zen, I was where you are. I am now much more adept at the site. There are two bits of advice I would love to share. First, the book that is advertised everywhere is as good as they say it is to learn the basics quickly, purchase a copy and rush the delivery. Second, this forum is an awesome resource. Treat the people here well and they will treat you well.

    Enjoy and happy Zenning

Don't worry. You will get the hang of it -I'm just learning myself.
