Using Zen Cart 1.3.8a

I am currently receiving this message when trying to checkout.

United Parcel Service
We are unable to obtain a rate quote for UPS shipping.
Please contact the store if no other alternative is shown.

I have been using this cart for over a year now with no problems. This problem just started about 4 days ago. The odd thing is sometimes it works and the next minute it will not. I have 4 different catalogs for 4 different sites and this is now accruing on all of them. I have not changed any files in the catalog. Can any one help me?

Have you asked UPS if they have a problem with their servers?

I am getting a quote on your site with UPS ... I see you have a 3lb Tare being added to your orders ...

Were you able to fix this? If so, what was the solution?

Last year, UPS and USPS web tools died for several days on different occasions during the holiday rush.....

People cannot checkout when this happens..... Make sure you have a backup shipping table ready to go.
