Photoshop and customization questions

I'm using 1.3.8a

My question involved customization of images in photoshop.

I am well versed in photoshop, not an expert but I can get the effects that I desire.

The template I bought, came with PSD files. One of those files is the entire webpage in one file. I found this to be the best for me to customize as I was able to see the entire webpage in one go.

Am I able to customize the zencart in this manner ?

Or am I supposed to find each individual image and replace it with the graphics I want.

I would prefer to just customize the one large psd file and then just save or chop them up some how into the specific files . Anyone know how this is done ? or could point me to a tuitorial.

Any help or comments would be much appreciated.

No, you can't style Zencart using a single image file. You'll need to separate out the imagery you want and place it in the proper places.

No I understand that, but am I able to save to all the smaller slices, from the one single file after I customize it ? is there a way to save all the slices in one go, or does it have to be one at a time.

That is really a pure Photoshop question, and would require someone with knowledge of the Photoshop version you are using to answer definitively. Older versions don't have the ability you want; I don't know about new versions.

Fair enough, I just assume that since people are using zen cart and are customizing it, I assume they are using photoshop and have done this before. I will ask the same question at the adobe forum.

Making a Photoshop image and slicing it is only one of a number of ways to design a web page, and is not necessarily effective for a dynamic site.
I would expect that if your image included discrete parts for header, sidebars, sideboxes, etc. that you could build those parts on separate layers and then "save copy as" one layer at a time. An image that extends unbroken across page sections would better be used as a single #mainWrapper background than sliced and parceled out among elements.
