Default Upgrading with Add-ons not in new template

I wasn't aware of creating my own template when installing add-ons. I used the default folders from the initial install. My web host control panel is now telling me there is an update to 1.3.8 SP1. Am I screwed? Will I have to start with a fresh install and make all my customizations over again and re-install the add-ons?

Did you use Fantastico to create initial install?
If so, then you may incur problems updating to latest
zencart release via hosting control panel...always install
    zencart manually.

Whether or not you have a small or a large problem depends upon information that you haven't given us - maybe your web host hasn't given you.

There's no such thing as 1.3.8 SP1 - is this a designation that your web host is using?

What version of Zen Cart are you currently using? (there's a version link on every Admin page)

If this is an upgrade to 1.3.8 then you have a bit of work ahead of you. It's not too hard or complex, but it's not insignificant.

If it's just an update to add the security patch then you should get off very lightly, but will need to ensure that your code and database is backed up.
