Best way to discount products with 2 % off rates?

Hi, I'm using ZC 1.3.7 for a clothing store.
I want to put some products as 25% off and some for 50%off.
I also want to have the products featured on the homepage (featured products?). Can someone please tell me the best way to do this?

Do I make 2 different discount sales and add the products to 2 different categories?

You can wither have different catagories for th products such as 25% off and 50% and link the products there, or set each product as a special. THe second option would add all specials in the special box.

When you link products, you have to reset the master catagory for all products in the discount catagory. this is don in the product linking manager when I recall correctly that is accessed via the copy product link in the catalog.

If you want to haves eom products as featured products anyway, go for the second option. Otherwise you have to mark the product you want to feature on the main page individually anyway.

With specials, it's built in - no need to change categories. Go to admin->configuration->index listing. Try the "Show Special Products..." settings to see what look it gives you.

Thanks so much! Both advice was a great help. I ended up setting up 1 sale category for 25% off and added special product pricing for the 50% off. Worked like a dream! Zen Cart never ceases to amaze. Rock On!
