It is small ... kinda, sorta ... well ... no biggy ... it just has a lot of updates to it for RateV3 and a few other additions ... plus the changes to work with the January 4, 2010 changes ...

Is it really necessary to uninstall/reinstall for the change to work?

I'm asking because it seems just replacing the file seems to fix the issue, but I'm not sure if uninstalling/resintalling does any addtional things.

There are some configuration_keys that really need to be set so it is advised that you do this properly and save your current settings and do the REMOVE, INSTALL and re-configure ...

OK, good to know, I will remove, install and reconfigure right away.

So far I had only replaced the file on all my sites and seemed like all that was needed.

I am currently having the same issue but have not tried the solutions posted above, for one main reason:

The zen-cart I am admin for is still 1.2.3 for reasons out of my control.

I was wondering if these fixes would work with/for 1.2.3.

Also for future reference: does this happen on every year with usps? Just so i can be prepared heh instead of get pwned

It worked for me straight up on a 1.2.6 site. You don't have to take the site down, just make a back up of your existing usps.php file and try it out
