Default shipping charge using table behaves erratically

    Hello,

Max package weight is set to 50
    tare weight is not set

I have set table shipping to weight and added the following detail:

    1:1.28,5:1.62,10:2.14,15:2.65,20:3.25,25:4.41,30:8.95, 35:10.00,10000:20.00,

If one item with a weight of 25 is bought, the shipping is correctly displayed as £4.41. If another one of those items is bought the shipping incorrectly displays as £20.00. (should be £8.82)

If one item weighing 30 is bought, the shipping correctly displays £8.95, but if two are bought it incorrectly displays £20.00 (should be £17.90)

Can anyone tell me what I have done wrong please?

    Many thanks

    Tog

What is your Maximum Weight set to in the Shipping/Packaging settings?

If they are set to 50, then the boxes break at 50 lbs each ...

Yes, it was set to 50, but now I have changed it altogether, using the weight unit system with the unit set to one and the shipping price is simply entered into the weight field.

This works correctly, but I also need to be able to allow multiple purchases of some small items to go with free shipping. For example a small item may have a shipping cost of £1.12, but we can send 4 of those items in the same packet so do not want the customer to be charged £4.48 for shipping if he orders 4. How can I do this?

You are combining several methods of shipping and no one method will manage this for you ...

You will need to do some customization to the code as there is currently no way to know when you mean Qty 1 Product gets the shipping charge or Qty XX Product gets the shipping charge ...

Thank you for your reply. I suspected that might be the case. Unfortunately my writing experience is only with html and with vbscript (for asp pages) so I am not too familiar with php.

However I must see if I can do it because it is required for the shop. Can you point me in the right direction and tell me which part of the code to change in order to achieve the shipping charge formula I require?

    Many Thanks
