Setting up a Download for a non-customer

I have read the FAQs and searched posts, but couldn't find a similar question.

I have the downloads in my product area working to my satisfaction, and customers are able to download products without issue.

I also sell on other venues and would like to be able to direct these people to my website to pick up their download, rather than mailing them a disk or emailing the file. Is there a way to do this?

One option might be to set up a customer account for them, then email them a password and change the email address? But is there a less cumbersome way?

You can send them an email with a download link. That has nothing to do with Zencart though, but if you dont want them be be registered, that is the easiest way. Just put the files in some directory, that cannot easily be guessed and then send the link to your customers.

I wouldn't mind if they ended up being registered, but since they didn't come to the website on their own-- I'm wondering if there is a streamlined process for this.
