Site - relaunch?

Hi,

Not quite sure what to do here and need your advice where to start.

Was all gung ho about doing my online store and was almost ready to launch with the exception of getting some multiple shipping issues sorted out. This was back in August of 2009.

My store launch had to be put on "hold" as my mom had terminal cancer. She has since passed on and no condolences are needed.

Now that the new year has come, I can now turn my attention back to Zencart but where should I start?

I guess # 1 would be to check all security patches or should I just go from scratch?

When I installed ZC I made a base setup - preparation for the ultimate hack (one where everything was gone) - where if needed I could upload that site without having to do all of the coding work that I had done already.

So...any advice? Oh - just one question to go along with it - July 1st Ontario is doing a blended tax option (GST/PST) should I also set up a tax system ahead of time to do an easy switch starting July 1st - if yes how is the best way of doing it.

The core code (v1.3.8a) hasn't been changed since July. (I assume you used the latest download back then?) But there have been security and other patches released which you have to apply yourself. Have a look at the Zen Cart Release Announcements threads and follow all the directions there and you should be up and running pretty quickly.
