Shipping Question. Free shipping on some items.

Hi Everyone,

Is there a way to set some of my products to read free shipping while adding shipping charges to other items.

When I check the "Yes, Always Free Shipping" button in product description it generates a message saying:

Warning: Yes makes the product - Free Shipping, Shipping Address Required
Free Shipping Module is required when all products in the order are Always Free Shipping Products.

I just cannot seem to get this to work properly.

I have some items that I would like free shipping and others to charge. Also, I would like to run specials on some products offering free shipping while charging for others.

I use UPS Mod for all products.

you will see the FREE SHIPPING!

enable this and see what happens

The only thing this does is enable free shipping for the entire order. I only want to include free shipping on select items.

Once I check the Free Shipping option in the product setup page, when it is added to the cart this is what it says when you try to check out.

It only says this if the customer has just this item in the cart.

If I add additional Items the message goes away and will allow the person to proceed.

There is an option on your shipping module for areas to ship to (Shipping Zone) leave it on none for all areas

Also you would still need to enable this module for you to check the free shipping in your product, to get rid of the warning messageg

yes the message would go away and alow them to proceed with order as they would be selecting a different shipping method (ie not free) and your other shipping module will be setup for the zones you have specified to deliver to

If they only pick the free shipping products then it will use the free shipping module which i have mentioned above, if you select the zones to ship to with the free shipping module then your customers can proceed at checkout

Which shipping modules have you got installed and enabled?

Was they the ones that come with ZenCart installation or have you added any modules?

The only one that is installed is the Per Unit perweightunit

You need to check that you have the correct settings in your Shipping/Packing in your admin area Configuration > Shipping/Packing

review your settings, the default settings shows that items with a weight value of 0 are free post, this is a bit of grey area for me, but by setting the weight on your products you want to free post, i would set the weight to 0 and where you was checking a tickbox for free postage i would leave that on the normal setting
