    Default USPS International First Class not working

    We just decided to offer the shipping option of USPS International First Class in our shop. We have been shipping USPS for years with great success. I have gone into the USPS shipping module and turned on the First Class shipping option but when I test it, it doesn't give me that option, it only shows the Priority International shipping that we have been offering for a while. Is there something else I need to turn on?

    Have you added the current USPS for the January 4, 2010 changes:

    This is also a good time to review the Known Bug Fixes:

    And, to apply the Security Patches and Updates:
    http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=131115

    Then, check the weight as there are limits on First Class shipping ... you will want to review your settings in the Configuration ... Shipping/Packaging for the Tare as well as Maximum Weight etc.

    I installed this latest module and my international shipping is still NOT working.

    I am getting this message :
    We are unable to find a USPS shipping quote suitable for your mailing address and the shipping methods we typically use.
    If you prefer to use USPS as your shipping method, please contact us for assistance.
    (Please check that your Zip Code is entered correctly.)

    also note that my problem WAS just limited to first class - but now even priority international is not an option.

    1 Did you do a REMOVE, INSTALL and Reconfigure the USPS shipping module?

    2 If you go to the Developers Tool Kit and in the bottom input box type in:
    usps.php

    what is the version that comes up in the:
    /includes/modules/shipping/usps.php

    3 Did you call USPS and have them activate your account for the Production server?

    NOTE: the test server never works so be sure you are on Production ...

    4 What are your settings in the Configuration ... Shipping/Packaging ...

    5 What is the weight of your order?

    6 What is the Ship From address?

    7 What is the Ship To address?

    hi.

    yes - i did all those things.

    but i have come to the conclusion that the problem is on the USPS end and not on the zencart end - so sorry for causing unnecessary distress.


    basically, sometimes it is working and sometimes it is not. and i even went to the usps site and tried to log in and it told me my userid was invalid when it was not working... but once the module was calculating again, my userid started working again.

    it was impacting domestic shipping too i realized, so something really funky is going on.


    anyway - as of right at this second international and everything is working. so i hope usps finally got their issues sorted.

    Thanks for the update that this is working for you ...

    I did notice that USPS was a little doggie and if it does time out, you will get that error on all shipping methods as no quote is rendered ...

    Our cart is suddenly not able to pull quotes from USPS. This is a rare occurrence. Anyone else having trouble with USPS this morning?

    This is an intermittent issue for intermittent servers for intermittent times ranging from 10 to 90+ seconds ...

    Not all sites appear affected ... nor are sites affected in the same manner for the same delay periods ...

    You could Disable USPS and then Enable it every 30 minutes to test it ... but each site is different so only you can tell if USPS is working for your site ...

    I was having trouble a bit earlier today myself.
    It was really, really slow pulling quotes last night and early today it just timed out.

    It seems to be back to normal now.
