Slow Site

I've been told that my test site is to slow.

Is this a known problem. If so How do I rectify it.

I noticed quite a few people have read this Thread. I sincerely would like some opinions as to whether they feel the site is slow or is average or above average in response time.
I believe that the response time is within the norms, but I have a client who feels it is slow.
I personally think it's his telcom line at his shop that is very busy, hence slow response time.
I look forward to some responses.

I would say the load is average; not fast, not slow.

Correcting some of the HTML errors would help pick up some speed.

Hi Bob,

I've had a quick look around your site and found that I get approx a 5 second delay when I click on something for it to then do it.

Has anyone said what is slow or just that it is in general?

If your server supports Gzip enable this. I have only enabled his on my own shop today and could notice a differance

Images aren't too large '500px × 345px (scaled to 100px × 69px)' but there are a lot of them, and to resize all of them takes time.

http://www.websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze/ is a good website with a free service. I'm not sure if its that one or another one, but they give you detailed feedback and analysis so you can see all the results clearly and work on them all.

I just did a check, it is that website thats really good.
