Default Changing wording in the admin area itself

Hi all. I checked all through the forum and didn't see an answer to this question, so I hope someone here knows. I am looking to make some changes to the wording in the admin screen itself. After I installed the cart and went there, there were what look like default headings - ones that said "BOX_ENTRY_XXX", etc. I was able to change all of them in the navigation menu bar in the two green areas, but I can't find where to change the last four.

    They are:
"TEXT_VERSION_CHECK_CURRENT" in the upper right corner of the page.
"DATE_FORMAT_SHORT" under the Counter History box
"BOX_ENTRY_COUNTER_DATE DATE_FORMAT_SHORT" under the Statistics heading, and
"WedAMESTE_January-0500RJanAMEST" under the sample customer name under the New customers heading.

I am using the latest Zen Cart version (1.3.8a).
It is installed on my ISP on an Apache server.
No addons, not customized yet. Just installed the cart, which went pretty smoothly. I didnt have any unexpected problems.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

At first glance it looks like some corrupted files to me.

How was the install done - manual or via Fantastico?

If nothing else has been customized as yet you may want to uninstall and re-install ZC.

Hi Frank. It was done manually and the install run from the browser as the instructions indicated.

If I do a reinstall, do you think I should also delete the sql database and recreate it?

I also wonder if the download I got was corrupted. The first time I tried to install it, a file and a directory disappeared after I set them to read only. I saw them from the ISPs file manager only too late to keep them from being deleted.

When I tried to install it the second time, I noticed the number of files installed were different from an install I have on my retail website AND when I compared files to try to locate where to fix these headings, the content some of the files was radically different - like in the english.php file in the admin languages directory.

Got the reinstall done as Frank suggested (thanks for that). The headers did have all that annoying formatting as they did before and they look normal now in the green navigation bars, but I still have these issues I would like to change:

"TEXT_VERSION_CHECK_CURRENT" in the upper right corner of the page.
"DATE_FORMAT_SHORT" under the Counter History box
"BOX_ENTRY_COUNTER_DATE DATE_FORMAT_SHORT" under the Statistics heading
    "BOX_ENTRY_COUNTER" under that, and
"WedAMESTE_January-0500RJanAMEST" under the sample customer name under the New customers heading.

Also, how do I change the title of the page? (though that is less important)

According to Admin - Tools - Developers Tools Kit, all those are defined in admin/includes/languages/english.php, which I suspect is missing or corrupted.
