When adding a new Category, all data can be entered. After clicking Save, the system takes you back to the admin homepage. Upon further review, the new category was not added to the database. I've verified with the host (Brinkster) that the db is working accordingly as we can update it externally. I can however update and add products to the system without issue. This website has been online since January 2009 and worked without issue. I do have Google (Froogle) base installed.
