    What does this mean?

    I'm getting this error on my site

    Sorry!
    There seems to be a problem connecting to our database. Please give us a few minutes to remedy the problem. Thank you.

    everything was working fine and then I clicked to add a product and now I cant pull my site up or log into the administration section

    If you have made NO CHANGES to the two configure.php files, then contact your host.

    Your site eventually loaded OK for me... but it took quite a while - 72 seconds - (suggesting an over-worked server).

    This is usually a warning sign that you should consider a more "appropriate" hosting environment.

    Man like schoolboy said it takes a longtime to even load your site, your probably timming out trying to connect. I bet your host oversold the server your on and it's getting slammed.

    domaintools.com reports 193 websites sharing your IP address (resident on your server)... This is quite a few - and you only need a few really big sites that drain resources to slow yours down.

    Do a reverse IP lookup, find out who else is on that server, and see if their sites are taking a long time to load.

    Turns out my host provider has been going through some major upgrades, they had to remove the database for a period of time. They put it back up about 45 mins later. Thanks for the responses.
