I am using the latest version v1.3.8a. After I rename my admin directory and change the configure.php file and now I can not access my admin any more.
I used to do
mysite.com/store/admin
and now I am doing
mysite.com/store/new_admindir and it doesn't work.
Do I miss anything here?

When you say 'it doesn't work', what exactly is happening?
Did you replace the 'admin' with your new folder name in all three places in the admin/includes/configure.php file?
