Switching from euro to dollars doesnt work

I used to have the site set up in euros, but decided to switch to dollars, so i set the default currency to dollar >
Localization>Currency>us dollar (default)

The i went to Config>my store>switch to default language currency>true.

After that i empties my cache just to make sure, and the whole thing is still showing up in euros.

What am i missing ???
