getting the following error
Deprecated: Function set_magic_quotes_runtime() is deprecated in C:\Program Files (x86)\wamp\www\zen-cart\includes\application_top.php on line 18
this is from a fresh download of zen-cart and uploaded to my wamp server on my pc. this i on the very first welcome page on the install page... ie install/index.php

Sounds like you are using PHP 5.3 and you need to apply the following patch:
