I created a favicon.ico file and uploaded onto /public_html, as well as changed my meta_tags.php file to allow favicon. However, the icon is sill not showing up on the browser.
Was there a step that I missed?

Looks like you've got this issue resolved, as I see a little pink puppy dog paw for a favicon. Well.........pinkish-purple....

That's weird, I still dont see it on my end
Try closing the page, clearing the browser's cache, opening the page back up. Also, have you "bookmarked" it? Although, today you shouldn't have to. I didn't and it showed just fine for me in IE and FF.

hit control, shift, f5 to reset the favicon icon b/c it is in your cache.
In firefox, my favicon won't show up once you go to my shopping cart, but it will on my main home page. It shows up fine in both places in Safari.
I've cleared the cache, and rebookmarked, but it doesn't seem to make it show up. Any ideas?

Okay, I got it to work. here's what I did. I uncommented the define for favicon according to this tutorial:
https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=52
AND, I changed the URL to my favicon.ico to the absolute URL
AND, I added a "?" after that URL to look like this: . . . /favicon.ico?'
and now it works.
