How do I get rid of the 'new products for (month) box in the center?

OK, I feel really dumb, but, I am setting up v1.3.8 and cant seem to get rid of the box in the 'bottom' of the middle column labeled "new products for (this month)"... I have the new products box turned off in the tools/box manager menu, I cant find any other settings for this... is this a default? if so, how do I get rid of it.

Configuration > Index Listing > and then select from the following as you wish....

Show Featured Products on Main Page

Show Special Products on Main Page

Show Upcoming Products on Main Page

Well, like I said, I feel dumb... I've been looking for that menu option for a few hours now.. that did it... thanks!

No need to feel dumb, we've all been there (and still are in my case LOL) ... in some respects there's way too many options, but without them you wouldn't have the option to easily customise your store to your personal layout

There ARE a lot of options, which makes it very flexible and powerful. The command set reminds me a lot of OS/9 which I used to write communications software in about 18 years ago. The fun part is trying to re-learn that which I haven't used in all those years!
