    Default add a banner above footer

    Good evening.

    After searching this site and googling for some time, I'm more confused than ever.
    I've wiped my website clean a couple of times after making a complete mess out of it.

    Being a complete novice on website developing, I'm in need of some help.

    My first problem is the footer. I want an orange bar (like in the header) above the 'home' in the footer.

    http://www.funstuffoftheday.com/

    I've read https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=80 however, I'm just not understanding.

    I've also tried:

    Adding an image in the tpl_foooter.php.
    Loading a banner and changing the banner groups
    Looked at the firefox addons. I thought if I looked up the footer with 'home' on it, I could at least have an idea where to insert the image on the stylesheet. I had no luck.

    Learning about zen cart can be both frustrating yet very thrilling. If that makes sense......

    In advance, thank you.

    Nancy

    One way would be to add this to your stylesheet. That will turn the bar with the Home link in it to orange and move the Paypal stuff down a little.

    #navSuppWrapper {background-color:#ff9900; margin-bottom:8px;}

    Then, install the Firefox browser and the Web Developer plugin for Firefox. You can use those to see where in the stylesheet you change the styling of the various page elements.

    Ctrl-Shift-Y will allow you to hover over a section of the page and see the class and id names for that section in the box at the top. The statements in the stylesheet that begin with # are id's and the ones that begin with dots are classes.

    Ctrl-Shift-E will open the CSS editor and allow you to edit the stylesheet and see the changes in real time without changing anything permanently. A very handy tool.

    Stevesh,

    Thank you so very much for the reply.

    I will try it when I get home tonight where I have Firefox. At the moment, my work doesn't want firefox installed on our computers, despite it being a valuable tool to build their website.

    I couldn't wait until tonight however, with your help I was able to add it without Firefox addons.

    Thank you so very much!

    For anyone else interested; I added Stevesh code to the following:

    #navMainWrapper, #navSuppWrapper, #navCatTabsWrapper {
    margin: 0em;
    font-weight: normal;
    height: 1%;
    width: 100%;
    }

    #navSuppWrapper {background-color:#ff9900; margin-bottom:8px;}

    #footerhsy a:link, #footerhsy a:visited{
    color: #dbc9a2;
    text-decoration: none;

    For some reason when I add the following code

    #navMainWrapper, #navSuppWrapper, #navCatTabsWrapper {
    margin: 0em;
    font-weight: normal;
    height: 1%;
    width: 100%;
    }

    NOTHING is HAPPENING AT ALL... Like no customization at all. Can some one please throw me an assist on what the problem may be?

    Since you have a non-standard template, you'll have to install the tool I described in post #2 and find out what TM has done to the footer divs, and go from there.
