Removing products from the "New Products" box once it is sold out

There is a "New products" section displaying the products that I added recently.
Problem is, the product will still be displayed in the box after it has been sold out, that is, even when the product is disabled.
The picture stays there, but when clicked on, it will not load the page, as the product is already marked as disabled.

Is there a way to remove the product from the "New Products" box once it is sold out?
