    Default enabling create an account with showcase store

    Hi i was wondering if the create an account can be enabled when using zencart as a showcase store.

    As standard when i changed the cart to act like a showcase showing prices the create an account feature is disabled - is there any way to get this to work with a showcase version of zencart

    thanks

    Not that I know of. A showcase is a showcase. It disallows shopping.

    ok thanks for the reply - It would be good if it was possible because the customer management process in zencart is excellent. Well i think i will be able to add a autoresponder sign up in a sidebox

    thanks for the reply

    well it may sound a little strange - Ive never really used zencart in this way - Im actually making a affiliate store.

    I have managed to get it to work by changing the store to a showcase showing prices - using easy populate and uploading affiliate feeds. I can add an image with buy now linking to the affiliate link.

    I am actually designing it for someone - They wanted to use the customer management options available in zencart for when someone signs up

    They were going to also offer discounts coupons and wanted customers to sign up if interested - but this can be done via a autoresponder.

    But it would have been nice to allow the sign up option and send customer emails through the zencart features.

    thanks for showing interest

    Would you be able to put the store in "normal" mode and use option 2 under admin>configuration>customer details>Customer Shop Status - View Shop and Prices

    Code:
    Customer must be approved to shop
    0= Not required
    1= Must login to browse
    2= May browse but no prices unless logged in
    3= Showroom Only
    It is recommended that Option 2 be used for the purposes of Spiders if you wish customers to login to see prices.
    and 2 or 3 under admin>configuration>customer details>Customer Approval Status - Authorization Pending

    Code:
    Customer must be Authorized to shop
    0= Not required
    1= Must be Authorized to Browse
    2= May browse but no prices unless Authorized
    3= Customer May Browse and May see Prices but Must be Authorized to Buy
    It is recommended that Option 2 or 3 be used for the purposes of Spiders

    ahh - that sounds like a great idea - I will give it a go - Its important that add to cart or buy now does not appear.

    I think i will be able to remove these -

    i will have a play and see what i can do - if i can get it to work then its worth the extra work

    thanks
