Default Change root directory name: does it affect zencart operation?

Background: I'm developing a store for example: www.mysite.com/mystore

Soon though, the store will be changed in 1 of 2 possible scenarios:

    1. the same server, same address, with a different, unknown for now, directory name like www.mysite.com/erotsym
    2. or the same server, under a new domain name, like
    www.myothersite.com/mystore

I've searched the wiki and tutorials and found info on changing servers, and transfering from test store to live store server, and the variables and paths which need to be updated.

Question: Does this variable/path updating, I'm assuming, also occur with simple directory renaming situations as well, as in scenario 1?

I'm asking because the final name will not be known for a couple of days or more, but I need to start configuring and customizing the store, and I'm going to be putting a lot of time into it in just a couple days, and just want to avoid redoing things.

    Any help is appreciated
    Thank You

    This applies to both scenarios:

In worst case, if you find it's not working after you make the appropriate changes, simply backup everything and rebuild your configure.php files in the new location: https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/i...hp?article=100 , and then restore your database data.

Thanks, just wanted to make sure, those articles are pretty clear.
