Shipping help?

my product is set to 0lbs and it show 1x3 on the estimate shipping....
also how do i take away from showing the weight on the estimator.....
also...
i wan to use ups for several products but there is several products that are different shipping prices..

like products 1 is $5 nationwide..
how can i set that up....


also how accurate is the ups module rates..

Try this please:

admin panel/ configuration/ layout settings/ Shopping Cart - Show Totals

1. set to: 3

On the shipping cost ... you could customize your UPS shipping module to add the separate cost based on products_id to the totals calculated by UPS for the other products ...

Or, test the shipping rate at various weights to see what gives you a close charge with UPS based on the weight ...

it wont shoe on the shopping cart but it will show on the shipping page and estimate page...

can i remove those

There is also the setting on the Configuration ... Shipping/Packaging ... for the settings:

Display Number of Boxes and Weight Status
Display Shipping Weight and Number of Boxes?

0= off
1= Boxes Only
2= Weight Only
3= Both Boxes and Weight

this is how i have it setup..

$5 per item..

There are some items that need to be $12 shipping

how can i set that up..

also i disable the ups shipping module meanwhile until i get familiar with it....
i need to find out the lbs of each product.

You have a problem ...

You want to use UPS in the future but need to use Per Unit perweightunit but these will conflict as both use the weight of the Product ...

How many Products need to be $12.00 rather than $5.00 on shipping?

Are they use the same master_categories_id or perhaps a few master_categories_id values to identify them?

I have a printing business online...
and some products are more heavier than others...


like business cards i only want $5shipping ...
but like banners, roll up banner, brochures they are heavier specially once you get to the 5000 qty.

what do you think is the best way of going about this..

i could just use the ups module.. but if right now all my products are set to 0lbs... and business cards is $9 shipping in my own area..
once i add to 3lbs shoipping jumps up to about $15..
my clients wont pay that much for shipping.. so thats why i want small quantities to be $5.

Have you compared the differences between USPS and UPS and considered using both and offering your customers the choice of which they want?

For something like business cards, they'd ship much cheaper by USPS than UPS ...

Note: be sure to check your Tare settings in the Configuration ... Shipping/Packaging ... to see if you are adding additional weight to the order ...

i am really confused with this section..
what does 10%+1 means

or how does it calculate...
i went back and turn on the ups module..
my provider only drop ships with ups... i cant use usps.

so ok it turn on ...
i am giving freebusiness cards but the user needs to pay shipping.. which is a standard $12 nation wide...

how can at least make that item ship at $12
until i get everything going...
