Default description of order life cycle?

    Hi -

I looked through the FAQ, but couldn't find anything on this.

Is there a write-up anywhere on the significance of the statuses in the order life cycle? I was thinking that I wanted to change "delivered" to "shipped," but before I do, I want to make sure that I'm not upsetting any apple carts within my shop.

I'm also curious as to what the distinction between "pending" and "processing" was.

    Thanks.

Changing the text in the product status doesn't affect anything. The cart use the status id, which you can't change using admin but you can in phpadmin. Personally, the first thing I do is change delivered to shipped since it sounds more appropriate to my store.

As far as the difference between pending and processing is that some store are setup so you approve the order before you process it so it is pending till you process it.

Thanks for the clarification. I certainly don't see any need to change the ID; I'll just change the text.

Now, how do I disable the email that gets sent when I modify the order status from "pending" to "processing?" There doesn't seem to be a need for such an email in my shop.
