[Not a Bug] problem with creating account on 139

Did not know where to post this, so i posted it here.

just downloaded and installed the 1.3.9a...

all went well with the install...

I went to create a few test customer accounts but when i do so and click submit, the account creation page just refreshes emptying all the data fields.

While the account is created successfully I do not get taken to the Your Account Has Been Created! page. this worked in139BETA.

So the customer has no notification of account creation success, but rather thinks nothing has happened...
nor is the customer then 'loged in'

please advise...

Are there any myDebug errorlogs in your /cache/ folder?

Is it reproducable in another fresh 1.3.9 install? (I can't recreate it here.)

this worked in139BETA.

Strangely, nothing related to create-account was changed during the beta or prior to release.

hi,

the only things in my cache folder is a session log, install log and a index.php file...

Im at work at the moment and as always customers are calling at the most annoying time... LOL

do you want me to

a) delete the cart and do a freash install
b) private message you the URL and you can play
c) do (a) and then (b) if same problem occurs

I can't recreate this problem with my system(s) either. One was a new install, the other was an upgrade.

Is your server Windows based or Linux based? (It may or may not be relevant).

linux based... its probs something on my end.. a bad install or something..

Just downloading another 139a copy and setting up a 2nd test site on the same server, and will try again... and if that works then try on the 1st test site.. then if that works, i will say sorry and quietly sneak off..

If your 2nd site works, then I'd be interested in hearing the results of running WinMerge against what *did* get onto the server for the 1st site that wasn't working.

which files do you want me to winmerge from site 1 ?


also just noticed that on site one, even tho the account is created, the fake customer account doesnt get an email either... as site two just sent me an email saying welcome new customer etc... (same email address on both sites)

With WinMerge, you just drag-and-drop the folders (on your PC) you want to compare, and it whips through thousands of files in seconds.

Since you were only talking about storefront issues, just the /includes/ folder will suffice in this case.
