What are your settings in the Configuration ... Shipping/Packaging ...

Have you tried to switch to the Classic Template just to rule out the template causing an issue?

Heres a screen shot of the shipping/packaging. my dummy store is the same template and everything works good over there so i guess I didn't think of changing templates. If I change the template is there anything that I need to know or do in order to prevent any big mishaps?

While it should not matter, your Tare settings should be set to 0:0 not 0 ...

As to changing templates ... Zen Cart is designed to let you switch back and forth ...

Usually it is just sideboxes that may change such as which ones are enabled and disabled ... but when you switch back they will go back to the settings for your regular template ...

Okay so I changed the Tare and switched templates and it didn't work in the classic template. Can I put a link here to my dummy store? It works fine in my dummy store which is just where I've tried some stuff and experimented a bit. Its the same template that I'm using now.

Its missing the login button, and I see that you created a login so if you put an item in the cart, the login screen will appear.

Something is very wrong with your sites ...

I go to the demo site and it is changing what is in my cart on the other site ...

Can you check all of the configure.php files and make sure that each site is using the right database and username and password:
/includes/configure.php
/admin/includes/configure.php

/store/includes/configure.php
/store/admin/includes/configure.php

and be sure you are checking the files on the server ...

Also check if you have any kind of re-writes on the site in the .htaccess files for the root or the /store ...

Really? I never noticed that, I will look at those files, also, when I had the ssl installed a few days ago, they did some kind of rewrite in my htaccess which caused a huge problem so i ticketed them to undo whatever it was that they did and that brought my site back to just this one problem (which started around the time of the ssl install)
