not updating status on invoice/packing slip

I have an issue when updating status to anything, the order still remains in pending in the invoice/packing slip. What could be the problem?

The changes to an order status is done by you ...

The only time you see order status changes on an order is something like PayPal when it touches the order twice to processes it ...

Otherwise, you make the changes to the orders status ...

Thanks Linda, but eventhough the new status is changed to shipped or delivered. The admin shows the correct status but when you pull up the invoice or packing slip it still says pending and doesnt copy over the comment that I updates as well. Do you have a solution?

What is happening is that you are misunderstanding what you are seeing ...

There is a setting for the Packing Slip and Invoice to show the 1st comment (usually would be the one from the customer) or all comments ...

This setting also is what is displaying the current Orders Status ...

Look in the Configuration ... Shipping/Packaging ...

Display Order Comments on Admin Invoice
Do you want to display the Order Comments on the Admin Invoice?
0= OFF
1= First Comment by Customer only
2= All Comments for the Order

Display Order Comments on Admin Packing Slip
Do you want to display the Order Comments on the Admin Packing Slip?
0= OFF
1= First Comment by Customer only
2= All Comments for the Order

sorry to revive this, but is there any way to choose which comments are entered on the slip?
as i dont really wanna be re-sending the paypal information back to the customer...i guess its a good thing as a reminder to them....but just wondering

In Zen Cart v1.3.9 you have the ability to mark comments as Hidden ... you might look to see if you can utilize this for your needs ...
