need a quick fix!! image file name renameing

i have been emplying people to upload new products to my sites for the last yearand have been a good service... untill today i found a problem in that image file names have been uploaded as for example "my item image.gif" this then come out as "my%20item%20image.gif" this then stops feeds to shopzilla and other comparison sites.

i need to find a quick way to go through the images on my sever and removed "delete" the space between the name in the file name. either that or replace this with underscore or alike on the images file.

Is this possible.

ps i know i will need to change the database as well to match this change but i can do the find and replace in the image colum in easy populate.

I would download your image dir to your local and do this renaming locally
Place your site on maintenance and upload the new images replacing the current dir and make the EP insertion with the new names

Check it and take off maint

Backup first as one should always do
