index.php not loading in my 1.39

Rookie question here.

I just created a sub-domain using latest version. Merely typing in the other domains loaded the store. But in the latest one I have to type index.php.

I havent done anything different on the server. And I dont have any htaccess entries in the other stores that list index.php.

Am I missing something? Or does the latest version require an entry in the htaccess file?

sub2.mystore.com will not load store w v1.39

It means that your subdomain must have some sort of special configuration that's not treating index.php as the default document. That might be a result of an .htaccess thing you've done, or might be something broken in your hosting company's subdomain settings.

Remember, Zen Cart does NOT come with a .htaccess for the root of your store. So, if you have a /sub2/.htaccess file then that's something *you* added, and may contain something that's breaking normal treatment of index.php. Try renaming THAT particular .htaccess file. (All the .htaccess files supplied *with* Zen Cart have no relevance to the issue you're reporting.)

Check to see if the root directory of the subdomain contains a file called 'index.html'. This file may or may not contain data. If this file exists rename/remove/delete it because it is probably taking precedence over the index.php file. (The file is created by some configuration softwares)

If the above doesn't help, then try adding

DirectoryIndex index.php

to your root .htaccess file.
