Problem with database may as well upgrade?

I Have messed things up when importing a database (copied over database and don't have a copy of the old one) and thought I may as well upgrade now and I guess this will solve this issue:

'Your database appears to need patching to a higher level. See Admin->Tools->Server Information to review patch levels.'

Will it?

Sounds similar to the problem I'm having! Except I'm migrating as well.

What does your tools > server info say?

Hi, thanks for the reply. I would really rather not upgrade if at all possible. My tools server says alot! Does this bit help??
