I am wanting to use Zen-Cart with multiple currencies and Paypal, but have been told by my hosting company that they will not load CURL because of "major security holes"
Will I be able to use Zen-Cart without CURL or is this going to be an issue? I am wondering if I should not move the hosting of my site to somewhere where they actually provide support for Zen-Cart instead of dealing with "we are not familiar with it and do not know if it will work..."

You should move to another host who knows how to secure their server properly. Clearly yours doesn't.
