How to remove top banner and add links to top?

I have looked on the forum and haven't been able to find how to do this. I want to add links to the top section of the website where it says "Home" and "Log In" and also remove the top banner section. I was able to remove everything from the top banner but there's still a big gap where it was.

That just deletes the "Home" link on the top. I don't want to delete that, I want to add more links to that section and delete the blank gap below it.

OK that works for the first thing, but how do I eliminate the gap?

You could control the banner (logo Wrapper) to hide 2 different ways.. This is the easiest....

Locate this:

includes/templates/classic/css/stylesheet.css

Find this:

#logoWrapper {
background-color:transparent;
background-repeat:repeat-x;
height:75px;
}

1. you will change the highlighted 75px; to this:
2. 0px;

Take time to read through the Tutorials/FAQ and search for Override system.. Very, very, very, helpful when you upgrade in the future..

One more question. If I wanted to delete the top part (that has the Home link and the Log In link) how would I do it?
