I see and have downloaded the Add-on you pointed to. BUT, the folder, "EmailAddressExporter" does not tell me WHERE it should be added. The instructions just say to upload to server all files.
Do you know where to put these folders?

Just use your FTP program to drag the 'admin' folder from the mod (or change it to your admin folder name if you've changed it) to the root (top) directory of your store.
there is already an "admin" folder under "Zen Cart" directory. What about the "Emailaddressexporter" main folder in the Add-on?

Folders can't be overwritten, and the admin section can't be overridden, so just drag and drop it and click 'Yes' when asked.
but the folder "emailaddressextractor" has a php file in it. also the admin folder and all subsequent folders as well.

ok, my mistake! the "emailaddressexporter" folder only has a "readme" file so it does not apply. Thanks for your help. But are you sure that what is in the admin folder now will not be deleted?

Positive. Think of a folder as a bucket with water in it. If you take another bucket with oil in it and pour some into the first bucket, you'll have water and oil in the bucket, but the bucket is still the bucket.
If you have a folder called 'admin' which contains a file called 'foobar.php', and you drag and drop another folder named 'admin' containing a file named 'myfile.php' to the root directory, you'll end up with one admin folder containing foobar.php and myfile.php.
