Default Unwanted gap and how to make page 100% height always

It's my 2nd post to please be kind

I'm just playing with the shop layout. Ignore the header (logo) it's only a temp mock-up to give me the idea.

    2 questions...

    1) How can I remove the gap between the header (logo) and the "tabs"?

    2) How can I force the page to always we 100% the height of the window and keep the footer at the bottom of the page?

The attached (very quick photoshop hack 'n paste) should give you an idea of what I'm trying to achieve.

    Thanks,

    Rob.

    1. We probably can't help without a link to the site.

    Another question...

Even now with just the one item on the site, when you click on it and therefore you leave the index page the whole page shifts to the right slightly. Why and how can I stop this from happening. Looks very ugly...

I'm not seeing the shift to the right in any browser.

Just tried it myself and it's okay. I now see why...

When I was looking at it before I was on my netbook which has a lower resolution than the PC I'm on now. It's becasue the page height changes and the scroll bar (on the right) appears and disappears, causing the page to shift left/right.

Hopefully if I can make the page always the full height of the browser window this will stop happening.

Those instructions won't make the page always the full height of the browser window - they will make it at least the height of the window. If you have more content than a page full, you'll get the scroll bar. Otherwise your content wouldn't all display.
