subcategories image margin

ok, i am going insane.

I have been trying to include a magin for my subcategory images.
They are now almost touching one another and i want them to at least have some space in between.

So this is how it looks on my old site:

I have looked in the stylesheet tried different things but without anything happening to the layout.

please please please help me cause it has haunted me in my sleep.

ok, i foudn it.
It had nothing to do with my stylesheet.

Change this from 1 to 0 and it worked:
Admin > Configuration > Layout Settings > Column Right Status - Global > 0
