Default restricting the contact us form

Is it possible to restrict the contact us form to people who are logged in only? So joe public can't use it without signing in?

your best way would be to remove it, i can't see a potential customer going through all that registration form just to ask a question.

if you remove the link, you can have your own captcha script for people contacting you
I use a mailform script from here http://formtoemail.com

They don't have to, I have a different contact page with email links for contacting us. I want to use the "contact us" form for competition entries, and they are only open to subscribers/members. Thats why I want to restrict that form.

If these are written into your page, you will be victim to spam harvesters.

I never display a mailto: link... stopped doing that 12 years ago... all contact is done via php or cgi

you would need to modify the code to check whether the user is logged in or not, its not something that is that simple

i can make links appear and disappear depending on whether you are logged in or not, but if you know the location of the page, there would be nothing to stop someone using it whether they logged in or not

i think there is a link someone on here to a contact us mod that has a captcha etc

I use CAPTCHA on most of my clients' sites. SEE HERE for an example
