blank page when logging into admin

Hi all,

When i go to login to my admin for my zencart store the page tries to load after entering my UN and PW and clicking "login"...the page goes blank it just hangs there for approximately 2-3 minutes. My IE8 says 'done' on the bottom left of the screen with an icon that has a page with a triangular caution "!" sign infront of it. when i double click on it, a window appears that states:

additionally, i opened up menu.js in Dreamweaver and had this code in line 332

for (i = 0; i < menudiv.childNodes.length; i++)

Note: for the record, i've never touched this file.

When odd things happen "all of a sudden", it usually suggests something wrong on the server.

Maybe you're using an old version of Zen Cart and haven't applied security updates, and some rogue visitor has caused havoc? http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.p...ing_From_Hacks

Maybe your hosting company has changed their server settings or firewall settings?

Thanks for the suggestions Dr.Byte.

I've changed the .ini to not check for updates but still no luck, it just hangs until it times out but the page stays blank.

I've emailed my hosting technical support in hopes of finding an answer, and asking as to whether there have been any server changes.

I'm continuing to check and double check my directories to make sure there were no unauthorized changes on any files. I appreciate the help. Seeing as how the website hasn't gone live yet im not too worried. I'm hoping i can have this sorted soon.
