variants replaced by colons - stock by attributes 4.7

I have upgraded to zencart 1.39d. I am using stock by attributes 4.7. To update my stock levels, I used csv download of products with stock attributes table from phpmyadmin. I edited the table, then uploaded the edited table. It worked just fine, except for the products that have three variants. The variants are color, size and lenght. In admin, those products no longer have variants. The variants have been replaced by colons. Does any one know what causes this? What can I do to prevent it from happening? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
