Bringing my old db 1.38 to new 1.3.9

ok so ive done a complete clean install on new server and db.

i backed up my existing db and tried to import it after i installed the new zc and i kept getting errors importing it back in.

i dumped the db and imported my old one and now its all showing up with customers etc but they cant log in it keeps saying that its not a valid email and password etc. what am i doing wrong?

What errors, i usually drop all tables before i import a database into an existing database

which database have you dumped? did you manage to import your databse into the new one?

i dumped the new installed db and exported my old on and everything came back but couldnt log into the shopfront as a customer

have you checked your newly created database to see if you exist as a customer?

when i have uploaded the new db and i log into the admin all of the customers etc are there - inc mine and still cant log in

after i import the new db i go back and do the db upgrade? is that right

yes, if you upload your zc_install folder from your fileset to the server, and visit your url with /zc_install/ on the end and follow the prompts, only select 'database upgrade'

it should do it ok, but you have your backup if you need to restore again
