    Default What altered files go in the Overrides Folder and which ones don't?

    I understand that when you change files they should be save in the process of an Overrides Folder. Basically your template folder. But some files do not seem to recognize when you do this. For example I was trying to update the following;
    mysite/includes/languages/english/shopping_cart.php
    so put it in
    mysite/includes/templates/mytemplate/language/english/shopping_cart.php

    Now either I have the file structure wrong or that particular file does not get moved....

    On a side note are these in the correct place?
    mysite/includes/languages/english/mytemplate/index.php
    and
    mysite/includes/languages/english/mytemplate/meta_tags.php

    I'm just very unsure of when to use the Overrides Folder System as apposed to just modifying the file. I know for the admin I have to just modify the files where they are, but the rest...?

    You do not put modified files in a completely different folder structure; they go in a new /your_template/ subfolder just below the original file location, for files that are not already under /includes/templates/.

    /includes/languages/english/shopping_cart.php
    goes in
    /includes/languages/english/your_template/shopping_cart.php

    Everywhere you see a /classic/ folder is a location for a custom template subfolder (Classic is a "custom" template itself).

    Thank you that helps.
    So does that mean I will never put files in
    mysite/includes/templates/mytemplate/
    unless they are already there?

    oh oh I see....
    never mind I think I get it now.

    The light bulb goes on... :)

    Any file that is under /template_default/ will go in the same folder under /your_template/ when modified.

    So to summarize;
    Files can be changed in three ways.
    1. If its for Admin, the direct files are changed.
    2. If its in Classic Template folder, a new file goes into mysite/includes/templates/mytemplate/.
    3. Anywhere else it is put in a sub-folder with your template name in the same folder where the original file is located. For example /includes/languages/english/your_template/shopping_cart.php

    Thank you so much for clearing that up.
