Default Re: Product Finder: multiple category drop-downs

Love this module.. it has solved my large inventory problem..

    HOWEVER! lol..

I am using zencart 1.3.9 most current...

if you hit my site with the www.thehardwarestop.com .. everything is working.. sometimes there is a delay, but it's a large catagory list.

if you hit it without the www... just thehardwarestop.com .. then only the first catagory works.. and the rest of them are not filled..

is this a server issue? I sent info in to the tech support of my host.. waiting on reply.

    Thanks for the great module!

    Brian

Hi , Ive downloaded this and the php files in the sidebox folder are not the same as in the readme:
in the readme they all end _sidebox.php as below, but in the files they dont?

    readme files are as follows:

File List - FOR SIDEBOX USE

    /modellist.php - NEW
    /includes/functions/extra_functions/product_finder_sidebox.php - NEW
    /includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/product_finder_sidebox.php - NEW
    /includes/modules/sideboxes/YOUE_TEMPLATE_NAME/product_finder_sidebox.php - NEW
    includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE_NAME/buttons/english/go.jpg - NEW
includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE_NAME/common/html_header.php - may overwrite an existing file, merge differences
includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE_NAME/css/stylesheet_product_finder_sidebox.css - NEW - or add contents to the bottom of /includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE_NAME/css/stylesheet.css
includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE_NAME/jscript/jscript_model_year.js - NEW - If you already use jquery - you don't need this, see below.
    includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE_NAME/jscript/jquery-1.3.2.min.js - NEW
    includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE_NAME/sideboxes/tpl_product_finder_sidebox.php

    Never mind, found it.
I was editing the wrong stylesheet!

I hadbacjked up ( renamed ) all my stylesheets as I edited them. I am using Dreamweaver to edit. I was editing the dropdown stylesheet but my site was picking up a renamed stylesheet. (maybe dw updated links or something)

So I deleted all renamed (backup) stylesheets and I am now editing the correct one (DUH!)

Worked out how to add a BackGround images when the product finder is in the header accross the page, but when you use the sidebox option I cannot find how to change the background without changing every single sidebox with the same image.
Does anyone know how to change a single sidebox image?
Ive done the obvious and placed an image in the dropdown sidebox in the css file, but as I say, this changes ALL the sideboxes.
    Thanks

hi, looking to use this mod for different categories other than make year etc, is this going to be a complete rewrite or am i expecting it to auto populate the same way? ie i am using 0 as the category id to have all my top levels show as a first option, which in turn have sub cats and then products.

    any advice appreciated

actually it works fine using 0 as the top category and populates the other two boxes fine, having a problem with javascript though.

anyway just wanted to confirm for others who may want to use it like this too

I have this mult cat working on my site and it is working very well.

    http://tireup.net

I do have another modification I would like to do but it has me stumped. Its adding some text to the product listing page. I know that after doing a search for tire size if you click on price it will sort low to high and/or high to low, but this is not real obvious to a customer so I would like to add some text above the bar or banner that is showing the price hyperlink that will instruct customers on how to sort by price.

    ??

    Thanks
